STEPS EDC Program

Implemented STEPS VMM-EDC Program during 2010 - 2012 in Srikalahasti and Thottambedu mandals supported by Lead partner Vasavya Mahila Mandali, Vijayawada, funding from DEUTSCHE BANK, Thailand. Target people are Children affected with HIV.

objectives:

To Organize education support, encouraging the children to continue their education and gave the socio-economic support to children who are affected with HIV.

project Activities:

NFE Literacy Program: Developing skills of students to take photos and videos.

NFE - Vocational training centre: Training in Embroidery, Tailoring and Arya work

Formal Education: Providing bags, books & stationary for attending the school.

Achievements:

The children formed as support groups with the general children to give opportunity for the affected children to share their ideas and views with them. The affected children have participated in all the program activities. With the formation of school support groups and continuous monitoring of their activities lead to the unity of the affected and general children. By enhancing and developing their skills, they started establishing their own business and start earning money which leads to their poverty reduction, women empowerment. 188 School Visits organised. 236 children provided support for attending School. 67 School Support Groups with 320 students were strengthened. 858 participated in 6 Observational Days 726 People provided Health services in 12 health camps. 3 Trainings were given to 60 people in Tailoring & Arya Work, 13 people in Photography, 22 people in Computer Training and 60 people in Literacy. 5 Picnics organized for 100 children. 42 Children wereDistributed Nutritional & Books
